The city of Nomads is located on the left bank of the Ili River, 90 km from Almaty. This medieval city was built specifically for the filming of the "Nomad" in 2004. It is a city-scenery built in the style of the 18th century: fortress walls and towers, residential buildings, mosques with minarets. This is a kind of monument to cinema.
